Due to the fact that my human is fat AND incredibly stupid, I found it exceedingly difficult to lay my paws on any good books. After hours of hunting, I eventually dug out one of my favourite novels:
A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett.
The content of this book is inspirational. A young lady is thrust into a life of starvation and drudgery. As unbearable as it becomes, she uses her resourcefulness to make her dreadful situation better. Sound familiar?
But I digress - as per the meme, the following sentences are from the book:
' It was not a very long chase. The Monkey prolonged it a few minutes evidently for the fun of it, but presently he sprang chattering onto Ram Dass's shoulder and sat there chattering and clinging to his neck with a weird little skinny arm. Ram Dass thanked Sara profoundly.'
Now, I should like to tag:
Daisy the curly cat
Storm the Furry Fighter
Jimmy Joe
Skeezix
Marie the Defender

7 Random and/or Weird Facts About Me!
1. I am a true survivor. On a daily basis I cope with plummeting temperatures, near starvation and horrific smells. My blog is my only salvation - I simply MUST tell the world about the cruel conditions in which I am forced to subsist.
2. As a resut of number 1, I am an inspiration to all cats. I know I am, you don't need to tell me.
3. I once had a love interest. Her name was Fiona. And then one day she was gone. She disappeared from the blogosphere and no amount of messages could bring her back. I have since concluded that I have been unceremoniously dumped.
4. I don't care that I have been dumped because I cannot love any cat more than I love myself. I did tell Fiona that.
5. I am partial to the odd drink of peppermint tea. I also love the taste of toothpaste - I hasten to admit that I regularly lick toothpaste from the human's hand (she is very messy!).
6. I love prawns. However, they must be northatlantic prawns served in garlic butter. Nothing else will do.
7. I have successfully declared the neighbourhood my own. Next door's cat won't even leave her house until she is certain I am indoors. The stupid old lady next door says 'It's ok dear, that nasty Siamese is in the house now'. To which I reply ' Mwa ha ha' whilst rubbing my paws.
The End.
I tag :
Storm the Furry Fighter
Chase
Kaze
Any cat that hasn't yet been tagged!

A Meme on Monday
Greetings.
I have been tagged by Kellie the Orange Cat to inform the world exactly How I Got My Name.
Well, there are two versions of events I can put to you. The first, and my preferred version, goes like this:
The Gods looked down on the earth one warm spring morning, enjoying the sunshine and the sound of the larks. They each agreed that nature is beautiful in its entirety but admitted that you can never, ever have too many beautiful things. " Nothing", said the God of Beauty "is as stunning as a chocolate point Royal Siamese Prince. Let's send him to earth so that he can flit gracefully from place to place with his Siamese brothers".
"Wait," said the God of names, "What shall we call this Royal Prince? It simply must be a name that befits his status on earth and also in Heaven". "Well" replied the God of Beauty, "His name should begin with His Royal Highness, of course..." On hearing my cue, I promptly began yowwwllling in my loudest Siamese voice. The Gods bowed before me before saying " Yao-Lin..what a perfect name for a perfect prince". And that is how I got my name.
The other, more mundane version is this: the name came to the human allegedly 'off the top of her head' and she was really excited to have found such an onomatopoetic name and went around telling everyone how she had thought up this fabulously Siamese name. Then she was reminded that Yao-Lin is actually the name of Gabrielle's maid on Desperate Housewives. Sheepish, she returned home to cook me steak.
So there you have it - two versions of events. Either way, I like my name and I have to admit that I most certainly live up to it!
Now, I should like to tag: Latte, Kaze & Chase and Luxor.
Yours, Yowwwlllliiiing
